The longest train route on the Chicago CTA ‘L’ system is the Blue Line, which stretches 26.93 miles from O’Hare to Forest Park. It is the second busiest line and one of the longest local subway/elevated lines in the world.

- Blue Line: This line runs from O’Hare International Airport (northwest) through downtown via the Milwaukee–Dearborn subway, and across the West Side to Forest Park (southwest). It has a total of 33 stations.
- Red Line: While the State Street subway section of the Red Line has the world’s longest subway platform, the Red Line itself is shorter than the Blue Line. The Red Line runs 23.4 miles from the north to south sides of the city.
- Other Lines: Other CTA lines include the Brown, Green, Orange, Purple, Pink, and Yellow Lines, each with varying lengths and routes.
