Blackpool North Railway Station is the main train station for the seaside resort of Blackpool Branches, Lancashire, UK. It’s the terminus of the Blackpool branch line featured in Train Sim World, which runs from Preston to Blackpool. 

History: 

  • The first station opened in 1846 as Blackpool station
  • The station was renamed Blackpool Talbot Road in 1872
  • The station was rebuilt in 1898
  • The station was renamed Blackpool North in 1932
  • The main station buildings were demolished in 1974
  • The 1938 excursion platform canopy building was refurbished to become the new main station

Services:

  • Regular services to Manchester Victoria, York, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Airport 
  • A daily service to London Euston 
  • Regular coaches from and to Manchester, Liverpool, York, and other places across the UK 

Location: 

  • Located just on the edge of the town centre
  • A ten minute walk straight along Talbot Road to the seafront
  • A ten minute walk to the town centre
