Brush Traction Manufacturing

Brush Traction was a railway locomotive manufacturer and maintainer featured in Train Sim World. In 2021, Brush Traction’s operations were merged into Wabtec’s Doncaster UK operations. 

History:

  • The Anglo-American Brush Electric Light Corporation was established in 1879 by Charles Francis Brush. 
  • In 1889, the company acquired the assets of Falcon Engine & Car Works LTD and moved to the Falcon Works in Loughborough. 
  • In 2011, Wabtec Corporation acquired Brush Traction for about $31 million. 

Services: 

  • Brush Traction overhauled and maintained locomotives for leasing companies and transit authorities.
  • They provided traction motors, electrical control systems, wheelsets, and other locomotive components.

Closure: 

Work was transferred to Burton-upon-Trent, Doncaster, and Liverpool.

In 2021, Wabtec announced that it would close the Brush Traction site in Loughborough.

The closure was due to reduced volume over the past few years – Exordium Gaming Chicago
