Midland Main Line is a United Kingdom add-on route developed and maintained by Skyhook Games, for their Train Sim World Console and PC platforms and was released on April 18, 2023 for the TSW3 video game. The Midland Main Line (MML) is a major railway line in the United Kingdom that runs through the East Midlands, from London St Pancras to Sheffield. The name Midland Main Line has been used to describe the route since the late 1840s, and the line has been undergoing upgrades since 2012.
The term Midland Main Line was first recorded in print in 1848, and was used to describe any route of the Midland Railway that operated express trains.
Midland Main Line has 397 miles (639 km) of track, 16 tunnels, and 35 stations.
The Midland Main Line is currently undergoing its largest upgrade since it was completed in 1870. The upgrades include electrification of the line between Bedford, Wellingborough, Corby, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, and Sheffield. The electrification is intended to support the UK government’s net zero carbon targets for 2050.
