Rosyth Railway Station is a Train Sim World featured station in Fife Circle Line Rosyth that serves the town and the nearby naval dockyard. 

How it got its name

  • The North British Railway opened the station in 1917 as Rosyth Halt. It was built to help transport workers to the dockyards.

Where it’s located

  • The station is on the Fife Circle Line, 14.7 miles north of Edinburgh Waverley. It’s located just south of Dunfermline, across the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh.

  • The station serves the town of Rosyth and the nearby naval dockyard.

What the dockyard does 

  • The dockyard dismantles decommissioned nuclear submarines. It’s also the integration site for the Royal Navy’s newest aircraft carriers and frigates.

History 

  • The dockyards were the first in the Royal Navy to be privatized when Babcock International acquired the site in 1987.
