History

  • The Sulzbach valley was settled as early as 3500 BC. 
  • The Palatine Ludwig Railway (Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn) was completed in 1849 and extended to Neunkirchen in 1850. 
  • The Neunkirchen–Saarbrücken section was commissioned in 1852, which included the opening of Sulzbach (Saar) station.
