British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) is a Train Sim World featured company that designed, manufactured, and maintained rolling stock for British Rail. BREL was a subsidiary of British Rail and was responsible for the majority of the new trains and carriages produced by British Rail.
History:
- BREL was established in 1970 by the British Railways Board
- BREL was sold in 1989 to a consortium of Asea Brown Boveri and Trafalgar House
- BREL was privatized and became a subsidiary of ABB Transportation in 1992
- BREL ceased to exist in September 1992
