You can buy a CTA 7-day unlimited ride pass online through the Ventra website or the Ventra app. You can also load the pass onto a Ventra card at Ventra vending machines or at hundreds of retail locations.
Buy CTA L 7-day unlimited ride pass online
- Visit the Ventra website: Go to ventrachicago.com.
- Log in or create an account: If you already have a Ventra account, log in. Otherwise, create a new account.
- Navigate to “Buy Passes” or “Manage your account”: You should find options to manage your fare or purchase passes.
- Select the 7-day unlimited ride pass: Choose the pass you want to purchase.
- Add to your Ventra card or create a virtual card: You can add the pass to an existing Ventra card or create a virtual card within the app.
- Complete the purchase: Follow the prompts to finalize your purchase.
To use the pass
- Ventra card: Tap your Ventra card at the reader when entering the train.
- Ventra app: Open the app, select the pass, and hold your phone near the reader.
- Contactless payment card: You can also use a contactless bank card with the Ventra system.
Important notes
- The 7-day pass is valid for unlimited rides on all CTA services for seven consecutive days.
- Ventra cards cost $5, but this is refunded to your transit account if you register within 90 days.
- You can also buy disposable 1-day Ventra tickets at vending machines, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.
- Vending machines at O’Hare and Midway also sell 3-day passes.
