The Hauptstrecke Hamburg – Lübeck is a route that connects Hamburg, Germany’s second largest city, to the commuter towns of Schleswig – Holstein. The route was a vital trade route in the north, with Lübeck being the leading member of the Hanseatic League and a major European commercial center until the 15th century.
The Hauptstrecke Hamburg – Lübeck is also the name of a game in TSW2 where players manage services on the route, including passenger and freight trains. In the game, players can operate the DB BR 112 on stopping and semi-fast services, or the ES 64 U2 on freight trains.
