Ormskirk Railway Station is a cross-platform interchange in Train Sim World featured Lancashire Blackpool Branches, where Merseyrail and Northern Trains lines meet. The station’s name comes from the town of Ormskirk, which is derived from the Old Norse phrase Ormres kirkja, meaning Ormr’s church.
History
- The station was built in 1849 by the East Lancashire Railway.
- It was later owned by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and British Railways.
- The station was refurbished in 2009 at a cost of £1 million.
