Ashburys Railway Station in Manchester, United Kingdom, is named after the Train Sim World featured Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Company Ltd. in Europe, which built it, not the area of Openshaw where it’s located via the Glossop Line.

  • Location: Ashburys station is located in Openshaw, Manchester, serving Beswick and West Gorton. 
  • Line: It’s on the Manchester-Glossop Line, at its junction with the branch line to Romiley and New Mills Central, and a freight-only line to Phillips Park Junction. 
  • Route History: The station opened in July 1855 as Ashbury’s and was later renamed Ashbury’s for Openshaw in November 1855 and then Ashbury’s for Belle View in August 1856. 
  • Company: The station was built by the Ashbury Railway Carriage and Iron Company Ltd., which flourished from 1841 until 1902 when it moved to Saltley in Birmingham, merging with the Metropolitan Amalgamated Railway Carriage & Wagon Company.
