DB BR 101 is a rolling stock add-on developed and maintained by Dovetail Games and TrainSim-Germany for their TSW Console and PC platforms and was released on April 22, 2021 for the Train Sim World 2 video game. DB BR 101 is a class of three-phase electric locomotives that were built in Germany between 1996 and 1999.

  • Purpose – The DB BR 101 was built to replace the aging DB BR 103 as the flagship locomotive for Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s national railway company. The DB BR 101 was designed to be an efficient, high-speed passenger locomotive. 
  • Features – The DB BR 101 has a maximum speed of 220 km/h. It operates DB InterCity services within Germany and EuroCity services to other countries. 
  • History – The DB BR 101 was built by Adtranz, which was formed when ABB merged with AEG. Components were built in various locations, with final assembly taking place in Poland. The first DB BR 101 entered service in February 1997. 
  • Retirement – As of 2024, the DB BR 101 is being retired and scrapped.
