LGV Méditerranée

LGV Méditerranée is an add-on route developed and maintained by Dovetail Games, for their Console and PC platforms and was released on December 17, 2020 for the Train Sim World 2 video game. LGV Méditerranée is the French name for the Mediterranean high-speed rail line, which connects the northern and southern regions of France: 

  • Meaning – LGV stands for Ligne à Grande Vitesse, which translates to “high-speed line” in English  
  • Route – The LGV Méditerranée runs from Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence in the Drôme to Marseille in the Bouches-du-Rhône, and also connects to Nîmes in the Gard  
  • Length – The line is 250 kilometers (160 miles) long  
  • Speed – The LGV Méditerranée operates at speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour (200 miles per hour)  
  • Opening – The line opened in 2001 and was officially inaugurated by President Jacques Chirac  
  • Features – The LGV Méditerranée uses the TVM 430 signaling system, which displays information in the driver’s cab to help them maintain the correct speed  

The LGV Méditerranée is also featured in the TSW2 video game as a downloadable content (DLC) add-on. In the game, players can operate the TGV Duplex high-speed train on the route from Marseille Saint-Charles to Avignon TGV.
