Isle Of Wight is an add-on route developed and maintained by Rivet Games, for their Console and PC platforms and was released on October 15, 2020 for the Train Sim World 2 video game. The network of railway lines on the Isle of Wight was originally opened between 1862 and 1901. The Isle of Wight has had several railway companies and lines over the years.
Formed in 1887 by merging three railways, this company operated a network from near Ryde to Cowes and from Sandown to Newport. It was absorbed by the Southern Railway in 1923, and the network was closed in 1966.
Isle Of Wight operated a 14-mile line between Ryde and Ventnor, opening the first section in 1864.
The network was modernized after The Grouping in the 1920s.
Most of the network was permanently closed between 1952 and 1966.
From 1985 to 1990, rail services on the Isle of Wight operated under the brand RydeRail.
