The MBTA Commuter Rail Framingham/Worcester Line is a commuter rail service that runs from Boston to Worcester, Massachusetts.
Fare – The fare depends on which zones the boarding and exiting stations are located in. The Commuter Rail is divided into 11 fare zones, with stations in metro Boston in Zone 1A.
Route – The line runs west from Boston South Station through the MetroWest region to Worcester Union Station. It stops in Boston, Newton, Wellesley, Natick, Framingham, Ashland, Southborough, Westborough, and Grafton.
Service – The line offers a mix of local and express trains to Worcester, as well as short-turn Framingham locals.
History – The Framingham/Worcester Line was one of the first commuter rail lines, with daily service to West Newton beginning in 1834.
