Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm Manufacturing

Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) is a Train Sim World featured West German aerospace company that developed and manufactured aircraft, including helicopters and airliner components. The company was formed in the late 1960s through a series of mergers between aircraft manufacturers and civil engineering firms. 

History:

  • 1968: Messerschmitt AG merged with Bölkow to form Messerschmitt-Bölkow 
  • 1969: Messerschmitt-Bölkow merged with Hamburger Flugzeugbau to form Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) 
  • Early 1990s: Daimler-Benz acquired MBB, which became part of DASA 

Products:

  • CTC-3 Cab Car – A Push-pull railcar used primarily for HEP services on the MBTA Commuter service
  • MBB Bo 105 – A light, twin-engine helicopter that was the first of its kind and the first rotorcraft to perform aerobatic maneuvers 
  • MBB/Kawasaki BK 117 – A twin-engine medium utility–transport helicopter that was a joint development with Kawasaki 
  • MBB Bo 115 – A prototype light, twin-engine attack helicopter with eight anti-tank missiles

Role in the Airbus A300: 

  • MBB was a key early partner in the development and production of the Airbus A300, a wide-body twin-jet airliner – Exordium Gaming Chicago
