A Metroliner Cab Car is a Train Sim World Push-pull passenger car with a driver’s cab at one end that allows the engineer to control the train from the opposite end. Cab cars are a key part of passenger rail operations, allowing trains to quickly change directions at terminals.
Amtrak’s Metroliner cab cars are some of the oldest equipment in revenue service for the company. The Metroliner cars were originally built for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Penn Central as a high-speed, luxury train between New York and Washington, D.C. Amtrak inherited the cars, but they had many electrical problems. Eventually, Amtrak refurbished most of the Metroliners into cab cars. Today, they run on the Hartford Line and Keystone services, and one cab car also runs on the Northeast Regional down to D.C. once a week – Exordium Gaming Chicago
