The SD70ACe Thundercabs is a Train Sim World heavy-haul freight locomotive that was introduced in 2005. It has a number of features, including: 

  • Model designation: The SD70ACe’s model designation breaks down as follows:
    • SD: Stands for Special Duty, indicating that it’s a six-axle locomotive 
    • 70: Denotes the series of locomotives that first appeared in the 1990s 
    • AC: Means the locomotive has A.C. traction 
    • e: Means “enhanced” 
  • Engine: The SD70ACe features the EMD 710 engine 
  • Control system: The SD70ACe has an EM2000 microprocessor control system 
  • Traction: The SD70ACe uses AC traction 
  • Louvered vents: The SD70ACe has louvered vents on the left side of the unit, which distinguishes it from the SD70M-2, which has plated over vents
