Cajon Pass Route

Cajon Pass is a United States base route developed and maintained by Dovetail Games, for their Train Sim World Console and PC platforms and was released on Sep 6, 2022 for the TSW3 video game title. The Cajon Pass is a mountain pass in Southern California in North America that has been a major route for railroads since the early 1880s.

  • History – The California Southern Railroad was the first to use the pass to connect Barstow and San Diego. Today, the Union Pacific Railroad and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway use the pass to access Los Angeles and San Bernardino.
  • Decline – Railroad depot properties in the Cajon Pass disappeared as automobile traffic increased and passenger traffic on the railroads decreased.
  • Importance – The Cajon Pass is a major transportation route for both vehicle and rail traffic between San Bernardino and Las Vegas.

Cajon Pass is located between the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains, and is a popular destination for railroad fans. The San Bernardino National Forest has a Summit Scenic Overlook that offers views of the pass.
